How Do I Make A Balloon Arch?

How Do I Make A Balloon Arch

Balloon arches are a spectacular way to add a focal point to the event, and is a great way to draw people into the main area. Balloon arches are very versatile in regards to colour, size of balloons, and even shape of balloon.

Tips When Making Your Arches

  1. Change The Size Of Your Arch. The arches come with poles that you attach together, and so you can make the arch as wide or tall as you wish depending on how many poles you wish to attach.
  2. Create Clusters. Once you have experience you can get creative on how you create your arch, but generally the standard balloon arch is created using clusters of 4 balloons.
  3. Round Not Teardrop. Normally you do not want to inflate your round latex balloons all the way when making a balloon arch.  Keep this in mind when purchasing your latex balloons.  If you purchase 12" balloons, they will not be 12" when you underinflate them to achieve a round shape.  Clusters of round balloons generally allow for a more uniform and compact interlocking in the balloon arch.
  4. Add Extra Weight.  As long as the floor is even, the bases are heavy enough to keep your balloon arch upright.  However, depending on how large you make it (or how windy if outside) and how many balloons you are adding, you can also add more weight by stacking the base plates with another, or laying heavy objects such as bricks on top of the base plates.
  5. Use Glue Dots Balloon Dots. When placing your clusters of balloons around the pole, they should interlock tight and well.  However, if you have some issues with balloons moving, you can always use tape or Balloon Dots (which we sell here) to adhere them together.
