Why are some latex balloons see-through and some solid?

Latex balloons have different finishes.  Some of these can include terms such as standard, crystal, diamond, neon, metallic, reflex, satin.  This is on top of actual colours such as green, lime green, forest green, and pastel green to name a few.  Different brands may use different terms to refer to the finish.  One brand may use "diamond" where one may use "crystal" to refer to a balloon that is very translucent. 

Both balloons in the images above are referred to as green.  However, one is a crystal green meaning it will be quite translucent (see-through), whereas the other is a satin green that is less translucent with a very different tone as well.
